Indoor Air Quality

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) problems can seriously impact health, comfort, and productivity. A committee of the World Health Organization estimates that as many as 30 percent of new or remodeled buildings may have unusually high rates of sick building complaints. Often the solution to a building’s IAQ problem is simple and inexpensive.

Poor indoor air quality can adversely affect employee health and productivity. These costs to industry have been estimated to be in the "tens of billions of dollars per year" (Report to Congress on Indoor Air Quality, 1989). Improvements in the indoor air environment may substantially increase employee and student morale and productivity.

Cromwell Environmental is experienced in testing for various IAQ components like Temperature, Humidity, Carbon Dioxide/Monoxide, Mold, Lead, Asbestos, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), and particulates as well as offering solutions to better improve air quality.

Since our founding in 1982, we have been called upon many times to identify an unknown and elusive IAQ issue (such as an odor, high VOC levels, or excess particulates) in offices, schools, or hospitals and to formulate and oversee the mitigation of the problem. We are experienced expert witnesses in IAQ issues such as Mold and VOCs.

At Cromwell Environmental our blend of Industrial Hygienists and Building Engineers are experienced in identifying the existence of an IAQ problem, as well as the solution. We are proud of our ability to solve or prevent indoor air quality issues in buildings.
